Anna Sjöström Douagi

Anna Sjöström Douagi is the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at the Nobel Foundation and, from 1 March 2024, Acting CEO.

Anna Sjöström Douagi is the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at the Nobel Foundation and, from 1 March 2024, Acting CEO. Most recently she served as the Executive Director of the Nobel Prize Summit, last convened in May 2023 in Washington D.C, in collaboration with the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.

Prior to joining the Nobel sphere in 2016, she was the founder and inaugural CEO of the Young Academy of Sweden, a platform for the most talented young researchers in Sweden within all fields on the initiative of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. She also has an extensive experience in international science policy as International Advisor to the Secretary General at the Swedish Research Council. 

Sjöström Douagi holds a PhD in Immunology from the Karolinska Institutet and is an elected member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. She was awarded the Ordre des Palmes Académiques by the French Republic for her distinguished services to science, and serves in several boards and committees both nationally and internationally.
