Press room for the Nobel Foundation and the outreach activities of the Nobel Prize

The Nobel Foundation is a private institution established in 1900 based on the will of Alfred Nobel. The main task is to manage the assets made available through the will, and the intellectual property related to the Nobel Prize that has developed over the years. Several outreach organisations and activities have been developed to inspire generations and disseminate knowledge about the Nobel Prize. The entities include: Nobel Prize Outreach and the Nobel Prize Museum, all located in Stockholm, as well as the Nobel Peace Prize, the Research & Information AS and the Nobel Peace Center Foundation, all located in Oslo. Statement from the Norwegian Nobel Committee

Nobel Peace Prize 2022
The Norwegian Nobel Committee is appalled by the news that the Russian human-rights activist Oleg Petrovich Orlov has been sentenced to 2½ years in prison, allegedly for “repeatedly discrediting” the Russian armed forces. Mr Orlov, who is co-chairman of the Nobel Peace Prize-awarded human rights group Memorial, has been a vocal critic of Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine.

Nobel Center

The new Nobel Center at Slussen in Stockholm will offer a broad range of public activities including exhibitions, school programmes, lectures and conversations about the major issues of the future. The public activities that are already being conducted around the world, digitally and at the Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm’s Old Town, will be further developed and scaled up for the opening of the Nobel Center.
