Nobel Prize lessons – It just says click!

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2022 is about making difficult processes easier. Barry Sharpless and Morten Meldal have laid the foundation for a function form of chemistry – click chemistry – that allows researchers to construct molecules in an efficient and systematic way. Carolyn Bertozzi has further refined click chemistry and used it in living organisms. The advances made by this year’s laureates can contribute to things like more targeted pharmaceutical cancer treatments.
